Internazionali d’Italia START TIME

FMI CAMPIONATI INTERNAZIONALI D’ITALIA EICMA SERIES 2023

Start Time – We’re almost there, the Ponte a Egola track is ready to welcome the first of the two rounds of the Internazionali d’Italia MX EICMA Series 2023! The forecasts announce good weather for the whole weekend with temperatures close to freezing at the first light of the morning but significantly higher than the seasonal average in the central hours of the day. The track that will once again host a round of the Internazionali will therefore be in ideal conditions to welcome the MX1, MX2 and 125 riders competing this weekend.

There is plenty of big names among those entered for the series that actually open the international motocross season, starting with the five-time world champion and 2022 MXGP title holder, Tim Gajser who will make his seasonal debut on the CRF RW 450 HRC of the Gariboldi team, together with his new teammate Ruben Fernandez. In MX1 the Slovenian and the Spanish will have to deal with the three aces of the Factory Yamaha MXGP team, led by Jeremy Seewer, who will be joined by Maxime Renaux and Glenn Coldenhoff. Mattia Guadagnini will also be riding the GasGas Factory  bike of the De Carli team who, together with Alberto Forato with the KTM of the SM Action team, Alessandro Lupino with the BETA managed by the MRT team and Nicholas Lapucci riding the Husqvarna of the SDM Corse team, form a quartet of fierce Italian riders.

In MX2 we will see the absolute debut of Antonio Cairoli as team manager; the Sicilian, 14 times titled at the Internazionali d’Italia, will start his managerial career in Ponte a Egola, lining up in the race Andrea Adamo, Liam Everts and Sacha Coenen riding the KTM 250 SX-F Factory. Countering the strong orange trio will be Yamaha’s three factory riders with Vice World Champion, Jago Geerts, the Frenchman Thibault Benistant and the reigning EMX250 Champion Rick Elzinga. Simon Langenfelder will also be on the track with the factory GasGas and the Maddii team Fantic will align Tom Guyon, Cas Valk and Hakon Osterhagen. Among the many Italians in the race there will be Andrea Bonacorsi with Yamaha and Valerio Lata with the KTM of the Beddini Racing team.

It will be possible to follow the races on FedermotoTV and on OffRoadProRacing from 13.30 on Sunday 12 February when it will be possible to select the Italian language with the commentary of Marco Gualdani or the English one with that of Paul Malin, both will be assisted by the pit report Lorenzo Resta.
