EICMA 2026 Day #1
Report Time – Si è chiusa la prima giornata di EICMA 2026, con l’arena di MotoLive che come sempre ha offerto grande spettacolo e gare di alto livello. A scendere in pista oggi sono stati i piloti del SuperEnduro e i protagonisti della Charity Race riservata alle moto pluricilindriche, che ha regalato una sfida avvincente fino all’ultimo confronto. Grande attenzione anche fuori dalla pista, con la presenza di Toni Bou, salito sul palco per festeggiare il suo 40° titolo iridato in carriera, e l’intrattenimento di Radio Deejay con Andrea e Michele.
Report Time – The first day of EICMA 2026 has come to a close, with the MotoLive arena once again delivering great entertainment and top-level racing. Today, the SuperEnduro riders took to the track for two races on a particularly technical course, while the competitors in the multi-cylinder Charity Race delivered an exciting series of head-to-head battles. There was plenty happening away from the track too, with Toni Bou taking to the stage to celebrate his 40th world title, alongside entertainment from Radio Deejay presenters Andrea and Michele.
SuperEnduro – È stato Steve Holcombe, in sella alla Sherco del team CH Racing, il grande protagonista della giornata, con una supremazia che gli ha permesso di dominare entrambe le manche. Nella prima gara l’inglese ha preso subito il comando e ha gestito la corsa controllando inizialmente Alberto Elgari (TM Moto) e successivamente Zach Pichon (TM Moto), che è riuscito a inserirsi alle sue spalle. Holcombe ha tagliato il traguardo al primo posto, seguito da Pichon, mentre Elgari ha completato il podio in terza posizione. Nella seconda manche è stato invece Pichon a scattare davanti a tutti e a condurre la prima parte di gara. Holcombe è rimasto alle sue spalle, studiando il momento giusto per attaccare, e a metà gara, anche grazie al sopraggiungere dei doppiati, è riuscito a conquistare la testa della corsa. Da quel momento ha gestito il vantaggio fino alla bandiera a scacchi, precedendo nuovamente Pichon. Ottima terza posizione per Thomas Oldrati (Honda). Solo settimo Elgari, autore comunque del best lap 24MX. Da segnalare anche le due solide prestazioni di Morgan Lesiardo, quarto in entrambe le manche in sella alla Triumph.
A rendere particolarmente impegnativa la giornata è stato il tracciato di MotoLive, un percorso tecnico e selettivo che ha messo alla prova anche i piloti più esperti. Tra i passaggi più insidiosi, una sezione di enduro con massi in salita e discesa, una difficile piscina intervallata da tronchi, un lungo tratto di sabbia e numerosi ostacoli in stile Supercross, compreso un enorme triplo.
SuperEnduro – Steve Holcombe, riding the Sherco of the CH Racing team, was the undisputed star of the day, dominating both races. In the first race, the British rider took the lead from the very start and controlled the pace, initially keeping Alberto Elgari (TM Moto) behind him before Zach Pichon (TM Moto) moved into second place. Holcombe crossed the finish line first, ahead of Pichon, with Elgari completing the podium in third.
The second race followed a different pattern, with Pichon making the best start and leading the opening stages. Holcombe stayed close behind, waiting for the right moment to attack. Around halfway through the race, with lapped riders beginning to play a part, he made his move and took the lead. From there, he managed his advantage all the way to the chequered flag, once again finishing ahead of Pichon. Thomas Oldrati (Honda) put in an excellent performance to claim third place. Elgari finished only seventh, although he did set the 24MX best lap. Morgan Lesiardo also deserves a mention, having delivered two consistent performances to finish fourth in both races aboard his Triumph.
The MotoLive track made the day particularly demanding, with a technical and selective layout that challenged even the most experienced riders. Among the toughest sections were an Enduro-style stretch featuring rocks on both uphill and downhill sections, a tricky water pit interspersed with logs, a long sand section and several Supercross-style obstacles, including a huge triple jump.
Charity Race – Pluricilindriche – Grande spettacolo anche per la Charity Race dedicata alle moto pluricilindriche, trasmessa in diretta su Sky Sport. Dopo le prime fasi eliminatorie, che hanno progressivamente ridotto a quattro il gruppo dei 16 protagonisti, hanno conquistato la semifinale Johnny Aubert (KTM), Francesco Muratori (Benelli), Kyrian Mirabet (Honda) e Stefano Pezzuto (KOVE). La finale ha messo di fronte Aubert e Pezzuto, con quest’ultimo capace di sorprendere tutti e conquistare la vittoria in sella alla KOVE 800 Rally.
Tra i momenti più significativi della giornata anche la presenza di Toni Bou, celebrato a MotoLive per il suo straordinario traguardo: il 40° titolo mondiale della carriera. Sul palco si sono alternati diversi momenti di intrattenimento, con Andrea e Michele di Radio Deejay che hanno coinvolto il pubblico tra sketch, animazione e distribuzione di gadget.
Charity Race – The Charity Race dedicated to multi-cylinder motorcycles also provided plenty of excitement, with live coverage on Sky Sport. Following the initial elimination rounds, which gradually reduced the original field of 16 competitors to four, Johnny Aubert (KTM), Francesco Muratori (Benelli), Kyrian Mirabet (Honda) e Stefano Pezzuto (KOVE) secured their places in the semi-finals. The final came down to Aubert and Pezzuto, with the latter pulling off a surprise victory aboard the KOVE 800 Rally.
Another highlight of the day was the appearance of Toni Bou, celebrated at MotoLive for an extraordinary milestone: his 40th world title. The stage also hosted several entertainment moments, with Radio Deejay presenters Andrea and Michele engaging the crowd with sketches, entertainment and giveaways.
