REPORT TIME DAY#3 – La terza giornata di EICMA 2026 a MotoLive è stata animata dalla Charity Race di Flat Track, che ha visto sfidarsi alcune leggende del motociclismo in un avvincente format a eliminazione diretta. In pista piloti del calibro di Ruben Xaus, Alex Gramigni, Carlos Checa, Troy Beyliss, Jeremy McWilliams, Marco Melandri, Chris Pourcel, Stefan Everts, Alex Salvini, Joel Smets, Chicco Chiodi e David Philippaerts. Le condizioni del tracciato sono state ancora impegnative, per una forte umidità che ha caratterizzato tutta la giornata, rendendo le sfide incerte fino alla fine non solo nella Charity Race. Si è disputata infatti anche la seconda prova degli Internazionali d’Italia Supercross 24MX Series, con le classi SX65, SX85, SX125, Lites e SX450.
REPORT TIME DAY#3 – The third day of EICMA 2026 at MotoLive was brought to life by the Flat Track Charity Race, which saw some of motorcycle racing’s legends go head-to-head in an exciting knockout format. Among the riders taking to the track were Ruben Xaus, Alex Gramigni, Carlos Checa, Troy Bayliss, Jeremy McWilliams, Marco Melandri, Chris Pourcel, Stefan Everts, Alex Salvini, Joel Smets, Chicco Chiodi and David Philippaerts. Track conditions remained challenging, with high humidity throughout the day making the races unpredictable right down to the finish – not only in the Charity Race. The second round of the Internazionali d’Italia Supercross 24MX Series also took place, featuring the SX65, SX85, SX125, Lites and SX450 classes.
Charity Race
Grande spettacolo con la sfida tra le leggende del motociclismo, suddivise in due categorie: velocisti e crossisti. Tra i primi, la finale ha messo di fronte Carlos Checa (Ducati) e Marco Melandri (2TX), con la vittoria conquistata dallo spagnolo Checa. Tra i crossisti, invece, il confronto decisivo è stato tra Christophe Pourcel (Picasso) e Alex Salvini (Fantic). In entrambe le sfide Salvini è riuscito a portarsi al comando, ma due errori nelle battute finali hanno consegnato la vittoria a Pourcel. Nella Superfinale, che ha messo a confronto velocisti e crossisti, il francese ha avuto la meglio su un comunque ottimo Carlos Checa, conquistando così il successo assoluto della Charity Race.
Charity Race
The motorcycle legends delivered a great show, competing in two categories: road racers and motocross riders. In the first group, the final brought Carlos Checa (Ducati) and Marco Melandri (2TX) together, with Spanish rider Checa taking the win. In the motocross category, the decisive battle was between Christophe Pourcel (Picasso) and Alex Salvini (Fantic). Salvini managed to take the lead in both races, but two mistakes in the closing stages handed victory to Pourcel. In the Superfinal, which pitted the road racers against the motocross riders, the Frenchman came out on top against an impressive Carlos Checa, securing the overall Charity Race victory.
Internazionali d’Italia Supercross 24MX
La seconda prova del campionato ha regalato gare combattute e diversi colpi di scena in tutte le categorie. Tra i giovanissimi della SX65, Leonardo Bungaro (KTM) ha conquistato la vittoria approfittando degli errori dei suoi diretti avversari. Federico Grimi, che aveva comandato la gara per diversi giri, è scivolato così come Ludovico Riganti (Yamaha), che è comunque riuscito a salvare il terzo posto finale. Bungaro ha così tagliato il traguardo davanti a Valentino Squarcialupi (KTM) e allo stesso Riganti.
Internazionali d’Italia Supercross 24MX
The championship’s second round delivered close racing and plenty of drama across all classes. In the youngest category, SX65, Leonardo Bungaro (KTM) took the win after mistakes from his closest rivals. Federico Grimi, who had led for several laps, crashed, as did Ludovico Riganti (Yamaha), although Riganti managed to salvage third place. Bungaro crossed the finish line ahead of Valentino Squarcialupi (KTM) and Riganti.
Nella SX85 è arrivato l’ennesimo trionfo di Pietro Riganti (Husqvarna), che ha fatto sua la finale nonostante una caduta a metà gara, senza però lasciare ai suoi avversari la possibilità di soffiargli la leadership. Secondo posto per Dominick Maifredi (KTM), terzo per Anthony Montoneri (KTM).
In the SX85 class, Pietro Riganti (Husqvarna) claimed yet another victory. He took the final despite a mid-race crash, managing to hold on to the lead and giving his rivals no chance to take over. Dominick Maifredi (KTM) finished second, ahead of Anthony Montoneri (KTM) in third.
Nella SX125 nessuno ha potuto impensierire Edoardo Riganti, alla sua prima uscita con la TM Moto ufficiale. Partito al comando, il pilota ha condotto la gara fino al traguardo senza lasciare spazio agli avversari. La battaglia per la seconda posizione tra Marco Fruet (Yamaha) ed Enrico Panaccio (KTM) ha visto entrambi i piloti finire a terra, favorendo così la rimonta di Maxim Zimmerman (Husqvarna) e Alessandro Di Pietro (Fantic), che hanno completato il podio.
In SX125, nobody was able to challenge Edoardo Riganti, making his first appearance aboard the official TM Moto machine. Starting from the front, he led the race all the way to the finish, leaving no room for his rivals. The battle for second between Marco Fruet (Yamaha) and Enrico Panaccio (KTM) ended with both riders crashing, opening the door for Maxim Zimmerman (Husqvarna) and Alessandro Di Pietro (Fantic) to complete the podium.
La classe Lites è stata ricca di colpi di scena. Julien Lebeau (GASGAS) è rimasto al comando fino all’ultimo giro, quando è stato coinvolto in un incidente di gruppo con alcuni piloti doppiati che si trovavano davanti a lui. L’episodio ha spalancato la strada alla vittoria di Giorgio Orlando (Kawasaki), con Giovanni Meneghello (KTM) che ha conquistato la seconda posizione.
The Lites class was full of twists and turns. Julien Lebeau (GASGAS) led until the final lap, when he was caught up in a multi-rider crash involving some lapped riders ahead of him. The incident paved the way for Giorgio Orlando (Kawasaki) to take the win, with Giovanni Meneghello (KTM) claiming second place.
Nella SX450 Lorenzo Camporese (Fantic) è partito al comando e ha gestito la gara senza lasciare varchi a Yuri Quarti (Husqvarna) e Mario Tamai (GASGAS), che hanno chiuso rispettivamente secondo e terzo.
In SX450, Lorenzo Camporese (Fantic) took the lead from the start and controlled the race, keeping Yuri Quarti (Husqvarna) and Mario Tamai (GASGAS) at bay. They finished second and third respectively.
Molto combattuta anche la Superfinale, con al via i migliori piloti delle classi 450 e Lites. Giorgio Orlando è scattato al comando, prima di lasciare la testa della gara a Lorenzo Camporese. Questa volta Yuri Quarti è riuscito a trovare gli spazi giusti, superando prima Orlando e poi Camporese, per andare a vincere in solitaria. Orlando ha successivamente perso anche la terza posizione, conquistata da Julien Lebeau.
The Superfinal was also fiercely contested, bringing together the top riders from the 450 and Lites classes. Giorgio Orlando made the best start and initially took the lead, before Lorenzo Camporese moved to the front. This time, Yuri Quarti found a way through, passing Orlando first and then Camporese to claim a convincing solo victory. Orlando subsequently lost third place as well, with Julien Lebeau moving up to take the final podium spot.
Domani è in programma l’ultima giornata di EICMA 2026, che riproporrà il confronto tra le leggende nella Charity Race di Flat Track e l’ultimo appuntamento degli Internazionali d’Italia Supercross 24MX Series.
