Report Time – Seconda gara in Sardegna per gli EICMA – Internazionali d’Italia Motocross 2021, in una location meravigliosa, grazie al supporto soprattutto delle autorità locali, del Comune di Alghero – Città del Corallo, nella persona del Sindaco Mario Conoci, e del M.C. locale “Il Lazzaretto”. 

Una pista molto tecnica ha accolto tutti i partecipanti che hanno dato vita a gare entusiasmanti e molto tirate e nulla è stato scontato fino alla bandiera a scacchi. 

Grazie all’organizzazione tutte le gare sono state trasmesse in diretta TV con ottimi riscontri, con commenti sia in italiano che in inglese, che hanno dato l’opportunità a tanti appassionati di vedere queste prove di una stagione molto incerta per le questioni della pandemia, ma che non hanno fermato questo evento, oramai diventato un punto di riferimento internazionale.

Report Time – Second race in Sardinia for the 2021 “EICMA – Internazionali d’Italia”, in a wonderful location, thanks above all to the support of the local authorities, of the Municipality of Alghero – “Città del Corallo”, in the person of the Mayor Mario Conoci, and of the local Moto Club “Il Lazzaretto”. 

A very technical track welcomed all the riders who gave exciting and very strong races, and nothing was granted until the checkered flag. 

Thanks to the organization, all the races were broadcast live on TV with excellent feedback, with comments in both Italian and English, which gave the opportunity to many fans to see these races of a very uncertain season for the issues of the pandemic, but that have not stopped this event which has become an international point of reference.

SUPERCAMPIONE – Che gara!

Incerta fino alla bandiera a scacchi, con un bellissimo duello tra il vincitore Thomas Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) e Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team), che fino alla fine hanno combattuto per la vittoria. 

Il francese della Kawasaki ha vinto sia “l’Hole Shot – EICMA” e il “Best Lap – 24MX”, ma è caduto a metà gara permettendo ai suoi avversari di avvicinarsi e Olsen ha saputo rimontare dopo una non perfetta partenza.

Terzo sul gradino del podio Glenn Coldenhoff (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team), che ha fatto una bella gara e quarto Jeremy Van Horebeek (SDM Corse Beta MX), che ha portato a termine una buona manche con la moto italiana.

Da sottolineare la caduta al via dove sono rimasti coinvolti Nicholas Lapucci (Fantic Factory Team Maddii) e Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2), che hanno dovuto separare le moto prima di ripartire e rimontare diverse posizioni.

SUPERCAMPIONE – What a race!

Uncertain until the checkered flag, with a beautiful fight between the winner Thomas Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) and Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team), who until the end fought for the victory. 

The Kawasaki Frenchman won the “Hole Shot – EICMA” and the “Best Lap – 24MX”, but crashed midway through the race allowing his opponents to get closer and Olsen was able to recover after a not perfect start.

Third on the podium Glenn Coldenhoff (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team), who did a good race and fourth Jeremy Van Horebeek (SDM Corse Beta MX), who completed a good heat with the Italian bike.

Big crash at the start with some riders, where Nicholas Lapucci (Fantic Factory Team Maddii) and Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2) were involved, who had to separate the bikes before restarting and recovering some positions 

Vincitore MX1 Glenn Coldenhoff

MX1 – “Pole Position Newfren” per Ivo Monticelli (Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team) che non ha saputo sfruttare la prima posizione al cancello, ma a scattare davanti a tutti è stato Glenn Coldenhoff (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team) che ha vinto “l’Hole Shot – EICMA”, ha registrato il miglior giro con il “Best Lap – 24MX” ed ha allungato su tutti i suoi avversari, andando a vincere.

Secondo Thomas Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) e terzo Ben Watson (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP) che ha rimontato dopo una non buona partenza.

MX1 – Pole Position Newfren for Ivo Monticelli (Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team) who was unable to take advantage of the first position at the gate, but to sprint in front of everyone was Glenn Coldenhoff (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team) who won the Hole Shot – EICMA, recorded the best lap with the Best Lap – 24MX and stretched over all his opponents, winning.

Second Thomas Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) and third Ben Watson (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP) who recovered after a bad start. 

Vincitore MX2 Nicholas Lapucci

MX2 – Nicholas Lapucci (Fantic Factory Team Maddii) conquista la “Newfren – Pole Position” e il “Best lap – 24MX”, ma è Federico Tuani (Fantic Factory Team Maddii) a scattare velocissimo e vincere “l’Hole Shot – EICMA”.

Lapucci ha preso il comando fin da subito e allungato sugli avversari fino alla bandiera a scacchi.

Alle spalle del leader, ha concluso Andrea Bonacorsi (Hutten Metaal Yamaha) che ha dato vita ad una bellissima sfida con Tim Edberg (Ghidinelli Racing Team) e Alberto Forato (SM Action Yuasa Battery Racing Team), quest’ultimo risalito dopo una non bellissima partenza.

Mattia Guadagnini (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) e il belga Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2) sono rimasti coinvolti in una caduta al via e Geerts è ripartito ultimo rimontando tantissime posizioni arrivando sesto, mentre Guadagnini ha tagliato il traguardo quinto.

Lapucci took the lead and stretched over his opponents up to the checkered flag.

Behind the leader, concluded Andrea Bonacorsi (Hutten Metaal Yamaha) who gave a wonderful fight with Tim Edberg (Ghidinelli Racing Team) and Alberto Forato (SM Action Yuasa Battery Racing Team), that become on a good position after a not so beautiful start.

Italian Mattia Guadagnini (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Belgian Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2) were involved in a crash at the start and Geerts restarted at the last position and finishing sixth, while Guadagnini crossed the finish line fifth.

Vincitore 125 Hakon Osterhagen

125 – Categoria veramente tanto combattuta.

“Pole Position-Newfren” per Hakon Osterhagen (Fantic Factory Team Maddii), che ha fatto gare perfette, con un secondo ed un primo posto, oltre ad aver conquistato anche la “Hole Shot-EICMA” in gara 1 e il “Best Lap – 24MX”. 

Nella prima manche Osterhagen ha lottato tanto con Valerio Lata (MRT Racing Team KTM); il pilota italiano della KTM ha vinto gara 1 passando il suo avversario a pochi giri dalla fine, ma in gara 2 mentre era al comando (dopo aver anche conquistato il “Best Lap – 24MX”) è caduto lasciando spazio e tabella rossa al suo avversario, molto dispiaciuto in pit-lane ha dichiarato “Ho buttato tutto”.

Al secondo posto sul podio di giornata Andrea Rossi (Mxone – KTM) che ha saputo portarsi al secondo posto in gara 2, sapendo trovare le giuste linee su una pista molto impegnativa. 

Terzo gradino del podio per Nicola Salvini (La Rocca – Husqvarna), grazie soprattutto al risultato in gara 2, dove è partito fortissimo con i primi, anche se il premio “Hole Shot-EICMA” lo ha conquistato Luca Ruffini (Berbenno – KTM), terzo in gara 1. 

125 – Really hard category.

“Pole Position-Newfren” for Hakon Osterhagen (Fantic Factory Team Maddii), who made perfect races, with a second and a first place, as well as having also conquered the “Hole Shot-EICMA” in race one and the “Best Lap – 24MX”.

In the first heat Osterhagen fought with Valerio Lata (MRT Racing Team KTM); the Italian KTM rider won race 1 passing his opponent a few laps from the end, but in race 2 while he was in the lead (after also winning the “Best Lap – 24MX”) he crashed, very sorry in the pit lane he declared “I threw everything away”.

Second place on the podium of the day Andrea Rossi (Mxone – KTM) who was able to take second place in race 2, knowing how to find the right lines on a very difficult track.

Third step of the podium for Nicola Salvini (La Rocca – Husqvarna), thanks the result in race 2, where he started very strong with the leaders, even if Luca Ruffini (Berbenno – KTM) won the “Hole Shot – EICMA” and arrived in the third position in race 1.

Si conclude così la seconda prova in terra di Sardegna e il circus del motocross rientra in continente.

Adesso ci resta ancora l’ultima prova degli “EICMA – Internazionali d’Italia” il 14 marzo a Mantova.

Le restrizioni per il covid non permetteranno ancora al pubblico di essere presente, ma non mancherà la diretta streaming, non perdetevi l’ultimo round!
